Report: Andrade Requests Release From WWE

He hasn't wrestled since October

Reports claim that current Raw-brand talent Andrade has asked for his release from WWE.

Wrestling Inc initially reported the story on Friday afternoon. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful corroborated the report, saying a person from Raw confirmed that the request was made.

Andrade has not wrestled since October 12, when he lost a brief match on Raw to former partner Angel Garza. Afterward, Andrade and manager Zelina Vega were attacked by The Fiend and Alexa Bliss. The following month, Vega was released from WWE.

It was noticed Friday that Andrade removed all mentions of WWE from his socials. He also tweeted, "If you don't like where you are, move on, you're not a tree."

Reports recently emerged that WWE had no plans for either Andrade or for Aleister Black (Vega's real-life husband).

Following an over five-year run with NJPW as a member of Los Ingobernables, Andrade signed with WWE at the end of 2015. The following year, he settled on the name Andrade "Cien" Almas.

After a rocky initial start in NXT, Andrade's partnership with Vega gave him the boost he needed to crystallize himself as a main eventer on the brand. Under the company umbrella, Andrade held the NXT championship and WWE United States title. He is presently engaged to Raw brand star Charlotte Flair.
