Report: Backstage Details On Karrion Kross' New WWE Look

Make Kross more marketable

Following his loss to Samoa Joe at NXT TakeOver 36, Karrion Kross debuted a new look on Monday Night Raw for his match against Ricochet.

To go along with his post-apocalyptic character, Kross headed to the ring in a red mask with red straps across his torso. The Herald of Doomsday would remove the mask, but the red straps were worn throughout Kross' 90-second match against Ricochet.

Kross' new look received an overwhelmingly negative response from fans and the former NXT Champion's new gear was immediately compared to Lord Humungus from Mad Max 2 and the attire worn by members of the failed RETRIBUTION stable.

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, the new ring gear is WWE's attempt to make Karrion Kross more marketable.

"Spoke to a source regarding Kross's new ring gear. His response: 'Everything & everyone must be marketable. Toys, shirts, imaging, and accessories. You need to stand out to sell and this is how they sell,'" Zarian wrote.

How WWE plans to market Kross and his new gear remains to be seen.
