Report: Backstage News On Chris Jericho's AEW Contract Extension

Chris Jericho has signed a new deal with AEW through 2025

After tying Jon Moxley down to a new contract, AEW followed up by announcing that ROH World Champion Chris Jericho has also put pen to paper on a new deal with the company, with ‘The Ocho’ tied down to AEW/ROH through December 2025.

Whilst it was initially believed that Jericho had signed a contract extension, a report from Wrestling Observer Radio suggests that ‘The Wizard’ has actually signed an entirely new deal.

Jericho’s previous deal was set to run until January 2024. However, it is now believed it will end in January 2023 and the new deal will officially kick in then, with Jericho reportedly set to take on increasing responsibilities backstage as well as continuing to wrestle regularly for both the AEW and ROH brands.

Since signing with AEW at its inception in January 2019, Jericho has been one of the fledgling group’s most important players, reigning as the inaugural AEW World Champion, whilst serving as one of the locker room leaders backstage, helping ease tensions and keep talent in line after several recent backstage fights.
