Report: Backstage News On FTR Vs. The Briscoes At ROH Supercard Of Honor

FTR vs. The Briscoes almost didn't happen

A dream match will take place at Ring Of Honor's return show, Supercard Of Honor, and The Briscoes are set to defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship against All Elite Wrestling's FTR.

The match initially didn't look like it was going to take place, though, with past reports noting there were no imminent plans for the match to happen as recently as February.

In an update, Fightful Select noted that talks about an FTR vs. Briscoes match ramped up in January but after several ups and downs it didn't look like the match would take place at all.

That changed after Tony Khan bought Ring Of Honor from Sinclair Broadcast Group in early March and the match was booked for Supercard Of Honor after "quite the process", with it being noted everyone worked hard to make the match happen.

FTR and Briscoes previously had a pull-apart brawl at Final Battle in December and ROH Head Booker Delirious had hoped for a long time that the match would take place. The 41-year-old's ROH future is now in doubt, though, with Tony Khan taking over as the promotion's booker beginning with Supercard Of Honor.
