Report: Backstage News On Planned Roman Reigns Vs. Sami Zayn Main Event At WWE Elimination Chamber

Backstage details on planned Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn match at WWE Elimination Chamber

Following the events of the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship is the planned main event at Elimination Chamber on February 18, according to reports.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer provided further details about WWE's plans for the match, noting that Reigns vs. Zayn had been earmarked for Elimination Chamber since October or early November, well before Zayn cemented his position in The Bloodline by winning WarGames for the faction at Survivor Series.

Beyond the planned Reigns vs. Zayn match, WWE have already announced that two Elimination Chamber matches will take place at the February 18 pay-per-view. Austin Theory is scheduled to defend the United States Title in the men's bout, while six women will face off for the right to challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Championship in the second Elimination Chamber Match.

Sources noted to Dave Meltzer that although the men's match isn't as strong as being for a shot at the world title, the feeling is Reigns vs. Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship "is so hot it doesn't matter what is on the rest of the show."
