Report: Brian Cage Has Not Signed With AEW, Possibly Injured
We might have to wait a while longer before we see The Machine vs. The Terminator...
Jan 14, 2020
reported on Sunday night that Brian Cage had signed with All Elite Wrestling.
After the story was published, both
The Machineand his wife
Melissa Santosdenied that he had signed a new deal with any promotion. Santos tweeted: "Really?? How can you confirm something that isn't true???? I'm his wife and I can CONFIRM, he hasn't signed on any dotted line. @socaluncensored."
Later, Cage posted a picture of himself with a cut lip on Instagram with the caption: "So this happened tonight. But turns out the machine is pretty #hardtokill. Maybe I need to start putting hand up here and there @tomefilip @steviefilip. And on top of that, I haven't inked my name on any paper just fyi."
Now, Mike Johnson at PWInsider
has reported that Cage has not signed a new contract with any promotion as of yet, but his deal with IMPACT Wrestling has expired and he is mulling over several offers.
Johnson also reported that Cage is suffering from a torn bicep, which led to his match with RVD at Hard To Kill being called a no contest. During the match, The Machine was busted open which led to Daga taking his place against The Whole Dam Show.
For the avoidance of doubt, Johnson penned: "We are told by a number of sources that Brian Cage has not yet signed anywhere with anyone, but his current IMPACT Wrestling deal is up and he's mulling over offers from several promotions. The angle with Rob Van Dam at the Hard to Kill PPV that took Cage out of their match was done to prevent him from furthering injuring himself as it is believed he has a torn bicep."
