Report: Brock Lesnar Nixed Bray Wyatt WrestleMania 39 Match, Approved Facing Omos

Brock Lesnar rejected a WWE WrestleMania 39 match with Bray Wyatt

Brock Lesnar wanted nothing to do with that spooky stuff, brother.

The former WWE Champion's plans for WrestleMania 39 have undergone major changes for the past several months and Lesnar is now scheduled to go one-on-one with Omos at the Showcase of the Immortals.

Lesnar wasn't keen on one particular pitch for WrestleMania, according to Fightful Select, and The Beast Incarnate reportedly nixed facing Bray Wyatt after WWE offered Brock the match. Why Lesnar didn't want to face Wyatt is unknown.

Sometime after the pitch for Wyatt was rejected, WWE arrived at Omos for Lesnar's WrestleMania opponent and while Fightful could not confirm who pitched the bout to Lesnar, it was confirmed that Brock personally approved of facing the Nigerian Giant.

Prior to those pitches, Stone Cold Steve Austin was approached about facing Lesnar "sometime towards the summer or fall of 2022" after Vince McMahon had resigned as CEO and Chairman but The Texas Rattlesnake turned down the chance to face Lesnar before he also rejected a match with Roman Reigns which would have seen Stone Cold pocket a substantial sum of money.

Following this, WWE briefly had Lesnar scheduled to face GUNTHER in the autumn but that match had been scrapped by December 2022. The company then turned their attention to Bobby Lashley as a WrestleMania opponent for Lesnar, only to scrap that match too. The two former WWE Champions have been feuding over the past several months, having their third match at Elimination Chamber.
