Report: Butch To Receive Gimmick Change By End Of 2023

A reported gimmick change for Butch could be in the works for 2023

After being called up to WWE’s main roster in March 2022, it seems that the days of Butch are nearing an end, with a new report stating the Brawling Brute is in line for a gimmick change before 2023 is out.

As revealed by WrestleVotes and GiveMeSport, Butch is set to return to being Pete Dunne on WWE TV, with Triple H having wanted to make the change since he came to power in Summer 2022.

The reversion was only held off due to the popularity of the Brawling Brutes, with WrestleVotes saying the following:

“Absolutely, I was told that it's in the works. When Hunter came back, I was told that Pete Dunne was due to become Pete Dunne, but somebody said to wait because The Brawling Brutes were catching on. When Pete Dunne returns, it won't be as a member of the Brawling Brutes. I'm sure he'll be back by the end of this year.”

The move will come as little surprise, with Dunne prominently featured across NXT and NXT UK when Triple H was in charge of the black and gold brand, with Triple H having gone on record praising 'The Brusierweight'.

Despite the popularity of The Brawling Brutes, Butch has only wrestled on WWE TV twice this year, with his last televised bout coming in early February.
