Report: CM Punk And Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks Kept On Completely Different Sides Of The Arena For AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door

CM Punk and The Elite were kept apart at Forbidden Door

All Elite Wrestling's policy to keep CM Punk and The Elite apart remained in effect for the joint AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view on Sunday, June 25.

Forbidden Door was the first time Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks and CM Punk had been backstage at the same event since Punk made his AEW return on the June 17 episode of Collision. Punk appeared on Dynamite and Collision last week but The Elite didn't appear on either show outside of pre-tapes.

Despite being backstage together for the first time since All Out and CM Punk wanting to have a sit-down with The Elite, there was no reconciliation at Forbidden Door. Fightful Select instead reported that Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks and CM Punk were "put on completely different sides of the building."

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted ahead of Forbidden Door there is hope discussions will happen soon, though. Meltzer also reported that FTR don't have any issues with The Elite and Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have gone out of their way as of late to clear the air.

The extent of the backstage issues within AEW is up for debate but recent reports noted that a top AEW name left last week's episode of Dynamite in a bad mood because they think the issues between CM Punk and The Elite are a "ticking time bomb."
