Report: CM Punk Calling Out Hangman Page On AEW Dynamite Not Planned

No Hangman Page vs. CM Punk match is being set up for AEW All Out

While he has a major match with Jon Moxley coming up, CM Punk unexpectedly called out Hangman Page in his opening promo on Wednesday night's edition of Dynamite, offering The Anxious Millenial Cowboy a rematch for the AEW World Championship on the show.

Page ultimately did not respond to the challenge and John Silver revealed on social media that the former AEW World Champion was actually eating in catering.

Punk then called Hangman a coward before he turned his attention to Jon Moxley, with their AEW World Title Unification Match being booked for next week's episode of Dynamite.

Punk calling out Page appeared to come out of nowhere and the moment was not planned, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio

"If you're wondering about the CM Punk thing at the start of the show with Adam Page, that was weird for everyone as in nobody knew he was going to do that. If you remember months ago when they were feuding, and I said there's a lot of reality to it, well there's a lot of reality to it. I don't know what the deal was and nobody else does either. Punk was supposed to go out there and talk about Moxley and build the match and he did after he talked about Adam Page," Meltzer said.

Bryan Alvarez then likened the moment to Punk going into business for himself.

Punk and Page did previously feud in All Elite Wrestling and The Second City Saviour defeated Hangman at Double Or Nothing to win the AEW World Championship.
