Report: CM Punk Injury Confirmed To Be Torn Triceps

CM Punk out of action for several months

The nature of CM Punk's injury has been confirmed.

Initial reports noted that Punk suffered a torn triceps during his AEW World Title match with Jon Moxley at the All Out pay-per-view but questions arose after Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted he could only confirm that Punk had torn a muscle in his arm.

In an update, though, Meltzer has confirmed that Punk suffered a torn left triceps. The injury occurred when the two-time AEW World Champion hit a Suicide Dive on Moxley during the opening minutes of the match.

The nature of Punk's injury means that he will be out of action for up to eight months. The Second City Saviour had only just returned from a broken foot he sustained in June.

Outside of the injury, the 44-year-old has been suspended by All Elite Wrestling after he was involved in a fight with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks after Punk's now-infamous press conference following All Out. Punk's long-term future with AEW is reportedly up in the air as many people in the promotion do not want him to return due to his actions after the show.
