Report: CM Punk Likely Scheduled For AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks Unlikely To Be In Chicago For The Show

Possibly no Elite in Chicago, but CM Punk is likely for Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling will remain in Chicago over the next few days with the June 21 edition of Dynamite scheduled to take place at the Wintrust Arena.

Following his return during the debut episode of Collision on June 17 at the United Center, CM Punk looks set to receive another hometown welcome on Wednesday night. According to Fightful Select, those close to Punk claimed over the weekend that he was planned for the June 21 edition of Dynamite. Punk is not currently officially announced for the show.

With plans reportedly in place to keep CM Punk and The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega separate following their backstage fight after All Out in September 2022, there is a "good chance" the Elite members won't be on Dynamite this week. Fightful further noted that pre-tapes have been filmed to progress some of Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks' angles and they might not travel to Chicago at all.

The Elite have been feuding with Blackpool Combat Club for the past few months, while Kenny Omega also has ongoing programmes with Konosuke Takeshita & Don Callis, and Will Ospreay.

Check out the current lineup for Wednesday night's Dynamite below:

  • Orange Cassidy & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Zack Sabre Jr. & Daniel Garcia
  • Kris Statlander (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie - TBS Championship
  • Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, & Minoru Suzuki vs. Action Andretti, AR Fox, & Darius Martin
  • The Gunns vs. The Hardys
  • Jeff Jarrett vs. Mark Briscoe - Concession Stand Brawl
  • Blind Eliminator Tournament for a shot at FTR’s AEW World Tag Team Titles
