Report: CM Punk-Related Tagline For First Episode Of AEW Collision Revealed

CM Punk's return will be obvious ahead of the debut episode of AEW Collision

There is set to be a second coming in All Elite Wrestling, but it won't be for Jesus Christ.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the debut episode of AEW Collision, the promotion's upcoming Saturday night show, will have a CM Punk-related tagline. The show that will air on Saturday, June 17 from the United Center in Chicago on TNT will be called "The Second Coming."

Punk is reportedly scheduled to make his return to AEW on the debut episode of Collision, nine months after he was suspended by the promotion following a backstage fight with The Elite at All Out in September 2022. Punk will be the star of the Saturday night show, although he will sometimes appear on Dynamite.

Who Punk will feud with when he returns is unknown. It initially appeared he would face Chris Jericho but reports have suggested the two-time AEW World Champion is pushing to have his return match against Samoa Joe.

"The Second Coming" comes after CM Punk's AEW debut in August 2021 was billed as "The First Dance." The 44-year-old did previously portray a messianic character in WWE when he was the leader of the Straight Edge Society in 2009 and 2010.
