Report: Cody Rhodes 'Could Legally Be On WWE TV At Any Time'

We could technically see Cody in WWE earlier than expected.

Following the shocking news today that Cody Rhodes has left AEW, and is likely to sign with WWE, Dave Meltzer has stated that Cody could legally appear on WWE TV at any point.

Meltzer took to Twitter to provide a few extra details of Cody's departure, posting:

"The Cody/Brandi split with AEW happened yesterday. The two sides didn't come to terms on a new deal after six weeks. There is a lot more to read into this and our show last night we talked about the different issues. But he could legally be on WWE TV at any time."

Many online have already speculated that Cody could make a marquee appearance at WrestleMania 38, but this news will likely fuel speculation that we could see him return to WWE even sooner. While Elimination Chamber occurs this weekend in Saudi Arabia and would appear far too close, its role in setting up contests for 'Mania is well-established. Regardless, WWE would still have over a month to establish a storyline or rivalry for Cody should he indeed sign.
