Cody Rhodes may be back on WWE TV in the near future, with the former Undisputed WWE Champion having been on hiatus since dropping the title to John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 41.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has reported that Cody Rhodes is scheduled to be the top star on a major WWE show in Mexico, which could happen "relatively soon."

"They will be doing a WWE show there. I don't know the date yet but I know they're planning a big show with Cody Rhodes as the top star on that show, which means a major show there relatively soon," Meltzer said.

Reports have noted that WWE are planning to hold three events in Mexico in the near future around a show titled 'Supershow Mexico.' No date or location for the event is known as of yet beyond that it will take place in Mexico. AAA may be involved in some capacity following the announcement of WWE's impending acquisition of the Lucha Libre promotion.

No return date for Cody Rhodes has been made official, but he could be back on TV for Money in the Bank as a match under consideration is John Cena and Travis Scott teaming together. Rhodes has made a slight change to his gimmick amidst his hiatus.
