The latest WWE King of the Ring tournament is underway ahead of the final at Night of Champions 2026, with Oba Femi advancing to the semi-finals courtesy of his four-way win on the June 1 episode of Monday Night Raw against Solo Sikoa, Penta, and Carmelo Hayes.
The other quarter-final four-way matches are scheduled to be Dominik Mysterio vs. Bron Breakker vs. Trick Williams vs. Damian Priest, Seth Rollins vs. Je'Von Evans vs. Talla Tonga vs. Ricky Saints, and Jey Uso vs. LA Knight vs. Royce Keys vs. Finn Balor.
According to Ibou on Self Made Sessions, Seth Rollins is the current planned winner of King of the Ring. This may change, though, as current plans for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns are for him to have matches with Seth Rollins and Oba Femi, with one of those matches being held at SummerSlam 2026 and the other contest taking place at WrestleMania 43 if The Rock decides not to perform in Saudi Arabia.
"Here's the deal with the Seth Rollins situation. I asked about Seth and Roman SummerSlam match and they told me this, they said, 'Look, Roman is going to work Oba Femi and Seth Rollins,' and I was told one match is going to be at SummerSlam. The other one is going to be at WrestleMania unless Dwayne decides to wrestle at Saudi. That's what I was told. Roman is going to work Seth and Oba and one of those is going to be SummerSlam and one is going to be Mania," Ibou said.
"Today I was just talking to somebody about the King of the Ring thing. What they said to me was there's a lot of moving parts, there's a lot up in the air right now for SummerSlam for whatever reason and I'm not sure why. What they told me was right now the plan is for Seth Rollins is to win the tournament and face Roman Reigns. So, that's what I was told."
Another Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins match has long been considered within WWE and was tentatively planned for WrestleMania 42 but those plans were scrapped after Rollins was injured at Crown Jewel 2025. Reigns instead faced CM Punk at WrestleMania, while Rollins went one-on-one with Gunther.
The former Shield stablemates have not faced each other in a singles match since Royal Rumble 2022, a match which Rollins won by DQ. Their most recent match together was the Triple Threat also involving CM Punk in the night one main event of WrestleMania 41 which Rollins won by pinning Reigns following Paul Heyman's betrayal of Reigns.
