Report: Dakota Kai Injury Revealed To Be Torn ACL

Dakota Kai is set for a stint on the sidelines

Dakota Kai will be out of action for some time.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Kai suffered a torn ACL during the Women's Tag Team Title match with Bayley against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on the May 12 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Liv Morgan suffered a shoulder injury during the match and Kai is believed to have suffered the torn ACL when she was trying to protect the already-injured Morgan

Kai is expected to undergo surgery at some point this week. The recovery time from ACL surgery is typically between six months and one year.

Kai is currently in her second run with WWE, having returned to the organisation at SummerSlam 2022, only a few months after she was released by the company. She is a part of Damage CTRL with Bayley and IYO SKY. A split within the faction had been teased since the Raw after WrestleMania 39 but those plans are now up in the air following Kai's injury.
