Report: Update On Liv Morgan's Injury

Liv Morgan won't be back 'anytime soon'

The WWE Women's Tag Team Titles were vacated on the May 19 edition of Friday Night SmackDown after it was revealed that Liv Morgan would be unable to defend the championships with Raquel Rodriguez. New champions will be crowned on the May 29 edition of Monday Night Raw in a Fatal 4-Way of Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Bayley & IYO SKY vs. Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville.

Morgan suffered an injury on the May 12 episode of SmackDown when she and Rodriguez successfully defended the tag titles against Bayley and IYO SKY. In an update, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Morgan suffered a shoulder injury and she may need surgery. Mike Johnson of PWInsider also noted the injury could be a torn rotator cuff and Morgan isn't expected to be back on WWE TV "anytime soon."

Morgan has been a popular talent on WWE TV in recent years. Along with her tag team title reign with Raquel Rodriguez, Liv is a former SmackDown Women's Champion, having successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase in the summer of 2022.
