While there has been no official confirmation, the belief within WWE is that Damage CTRL was being broken up during the April 3 taping of Monday Night Raw, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Bayley appeared to indicate that Damage CTRL was splitting or she could be on her way out of WWE on Monday when she tweeted"And sometimes the most romantic love story comes to an end. Bye."

Bayley was originally scheduled to accompany Dakota Kai and IYO SKY to the ring for their match against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on the April 3 episode of Raw, but she was pulled from the show at the last minute and told not to go out with her faction mates after Vince McMahon had reinserted himself at the top of WWE creative.

The reaction within WWE, according to Meltzer, was that Kai was fired by Vince McMahon and he had no interest in booking her on the WWE main roster before his "retirement" in July 2022. IYO SKY also looked to be on her way out of WWE but Triple H brought her to the main roster and she signed a new deal with the company. Vince McMahon previously rejected Damage CTRL as a faction in 2022.

Damage CTRL was formed at SummerSlam in July 2022, with Kai and Bayley returning to WWE TV, while SKY made her full debut on the main roster after years in NXT. Kai and SKY have since had two reigns as the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, while Bayley has feuded with Bianca Belair over the Raw Women's Championship and Becky Lynch.
