Report: Date Set For WWE Extreme Rules 2021
Time to get Extreme...
May 5, 2021
A date has reportedly been set for WWE's annual Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View.
According to PWInsider, WWE will get extreme on Sunday 18 July this year, with the event to emanate from inside The ThunderDome, which is currently at the Yuengling Center.
Extreme Rules has been an annual staple of WWE's pay-per-view schedule since 2009 and invariably includes numerous gimmick matches across the card.
The event has previously been used as a follow-up event to WrestleMania, as an opportunity to present previous matches from 'The Showcase Of The Immortals' with a new stipulation and therefore in a different light, but the Extreme Rules show has recently been moved to later in the calendar year.
Much like in 2020, Extreme Rules will follow Backlash and Money In The Bank in the Pay-Per-View schedule, and will almost certainly lead into SummerSlam for WWE.
Last year's Extreme Rules was rebranded as 'The Horror Show At Extreme Rules' and was headlined by a cinematic Swamp Fight between the then-Universal Champion Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt.
