Report: Davey Boy Smith Jr. Attracting Interest From WWE & AEW
His MLW contract expires in December...
Nov 6, 2020
Major League Wrestling recently announced Davey Boy Smith Jr. would be returning to the company for The Restart on November 18. The Bulldog is out for revenge against MLW World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu after suffering a storyline broken back during the closing stages of the Super Series.
This could be Davey Boy's final MLW storyline as his contract expires on December 18. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Tony Khan expressed interest in signing Smith at Chris Jericho's Halloween party, but they aren't sitting down to talk business until after his MLW contract runs out. WWE, IMPACT and All Japan Pro Wrestling are also interested in bringing in the five-time IWGP Tag Team Champion. He could decide to re-sign with MLW, though, as the company remains interested in retaining his services.
Where Davey Boy Smith Jr. will end up remains to be seen, but Meltzer noted The Bulldog has no preference as to where he signs and will make his decision based on the offer and what makes sense business-wise.
