Demolition have reportedly signed WWE Legends deals, surely bringing an end to years of animosity between the legendary tag team and WWE.
Per a report from PWInsider, Bill Eadie and Barry Darsow have signed deals with WWE. Many long-time fans will be surprised at this news, with Eadie, in particular, having been at odds with WWE for years, with the two sides having fought a drawn-out legal battle for the rights to the Demolition name. Both Eadie and Darsow were later part of the large-scale CTE lawsuit levelled at WWE by Konstantine Kyros, which was ultimately thrown out of court in 2018.
One of the most dominant and successful tag teams in WWE history, the team of Ax (Eadie) and Smash (Darsow) are three-time WWE Tag Team Champions, having held the titles for a combined 698 days. Their first run with the titles clocked in at 478 days, a record that stood as the longest single reign with any sanctioned WWE tag team title for over 28 years until it was broken by The New Day.
If Demolition have indeed signed Legends deals then it opens the door for the team to take their rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame. It remains to be seen if and when the team does get inducted if there’ll be a spot for third member Crush, with the Hawaiian powerhouse added to the team in 1990 as Ax transitioned to an out-of-the-ring role.
