Report: Dog Collar Match Rejected For Cody Rhodes Vs. Brock Lesnar

Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar III reportedly won't be a Dog Collar Match

Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar have been feuding since the Raw after WrestleMania 39 and their programme has only increased in intensity since then, with Lesnar having given Cody a kayfabe broken arm ahead of their second match at Night of Champions on May 27.

A third match is set to take place at SummerSlam but their rubber bout reportedly won't be a Dog Collar Match. According to Better Wrestling Experience, working a Dog Collar Match as part of the programme was rejected by either Rhodes or Lesnar. Cody Rhodes could revisit the stipulation for a later feud, though, with BWE noting Cody could "absolutely" do the match "with a different opponent that's not a monster like Brock."

The current series between Rhodes and Lesnar is tied at one win apiece. Cody won their first clash at Backlash while Lesnar won the aforementioned Night of Champions match. Rhodes has since issued an open challenge to Brock for a match any time, any place.

Rhodes has previously faced Brodie Lee in a Dog Collar Match in October 2020 when he was a part of All Elite Wrestling. Rhodes won the match to regain the TNT Championship.
