Report: Drew Gulak And WWE Parting Ways Is "Not A Dead Issue"

The former Cruiserweight Champion's contract expired on May 16...

Over the weekend, Drew Gulak was moved to the alumni section on WWE.com and it was later announced that the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion's contract had expired

It emerged soon after that both parties had been in negotiations for some time but they were unable to reach an agreement after Gulak asked for a pay rise. The wrestling behemoth told The Master Of PowerPoint he wouldn't be getting a raise and then withdrew the offer that was already on the table.

Dave Meltzer provided an update on the situation yesterday on F4W Online as he reported that many people within WWE believe Gulak is gone for good but he has been told "it's not a dead issue." Meltzer also noted that Barry Bloom is representing Daniel Bryan's former coach in the negotiations. Bloom also represents Goldberg and Kenny Omega, among others.

Since his contract expired, WWE has not mentioned Gulak on their social media platforms, even going so far as to describe him as Daniel Bryan's training partner on Twitter earlier today.

The company tweeted a clip of the two friends' match on Friday Night SmackDown with the following caption: ".@WWEDanielBryan and his training partner square off in the first round of the #ICTitle Tournament! #SmackDown."
