Report: Drew McIntyre Continuing To Improve Following Food Poisoning

Drew McIntyre is getting better

Drew McIntyre's condition continues to improve.

The two-time WWE Champion was absent from the company's house shows in California on Saturday and Sunday and it emerged soon after that McIntyre was very ill with severe food poisoning. Irn Dru was able to work SmackDown but he was hooked up to an IV to get him through the event.

McIntyre's condition was believed to have improved slightly by Sunday and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported in an update that Drew was able to train in his home gym on Sunday night. He is expected to travel to San Antonio this week to promote January's Royal Rumble pay-per-view that is set to take place at the Alamodome.

It is hoped McIntyre will be at Friday's episode of SmackDown from Winnipeg. The Scottish Warrior is currently feuding with Karrion Kross and they are set to clash in a Strap Match at Extreme Rules on October 8.

Their segment on SmackDown featured a fireball botch with Scarlett. Find out more here.
