Report: Drew McIntyre Insistent About Returning For WWE WrestleMania 38

Drew has been on the shelf since Day 1

Having been written off of WWE TV at Day 1 due to legit neck problems, there were fears that Drew McIntyre could miss WrestleMania. But reports claim the former WWE Champion has no intention of missing this year’s ‘show of shows’.

Reports last week indicated that McIntyre was visiting Dr. Joseph Maroon to undergo extensive testing on his neck issues, and The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer has added the following:

“Regarding McIntyre, he’s been doing rehab and decompression therapy on his neck. He’s taking the John Cena approach of double sessions six days a week and is pretty insistent he’ll make it back for WrestleMania.”

McIntyre is believed to have been dealing with neck issues for the last month or so, possibly exacerbated by performing double duty on WWE’s live show loop in December. Needing time-off to address the issues and preferably sort them without resorting to surgery, WWE made the decision to pull McIntyre from TV, a backstage beatdown by Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss at Day 1 writing McIntyre off.
