Hurricane Ian affected an AEW star.

The category four storm made landfall in Florida on Wednesday, bringing with it winds of up to 150 mph and causing billions of dollars in damage as the hurricane moved north through the Carolinas. As of Sunday, 700,000 businesses and homes remained without power and over 80 people had lost their lives.

An AEW talent's property was also damaged by the storm and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Eddie Kingston discovered when he returned from Wednesday's TV tapings in Philadelphia that his home had suffered significant flooding damage. Kingston's mother's home also sustained significant damage due to flooding.

As a result, Kingston missed Warrior Wrestling's show over the weekend, with Jay Lethal replacing him.

Hurricane Ian also affected AEW's plans for Dynamite and it was previously noted that Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, and Jake Hager all missed the TV tapings because of the storm. This forced AEW to postpone their plans to kick off a Wardlow and Samoa Joe vs. Swerve in our Glory feud.

Everyone at Cultaholic Wrestling sends their best wishes to Eddie Kingston and his mother.
