Report: Fears Within AEW That Thunder Rosa Will Need Back Surgery

Thunder Rosa has already been out of action since August 2022 with a back injury and her stint on the sidelines could be set to run even longer.

Fightful Select have reported that Thunder Rosa is still not cleared to return to the squared circle and there is now concern that she may need to undergo surgery to fix the issue. Rosa was only expected to be out of action for a few months, which is why All Elite Wrestling initially didn't strip her of the AEW World Championship. She was eventually stripped of the belt after Full Gear and interim champions Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter had their reigns changed to being with the actual title belt. 

Rosa has been a part of AEW since August 2020 and signed with the promotion on a full-time deal in July 2021. Along with injury issues, Rosa has garnered heat in the AEW locker room but she recently revealed that she apologised to the women's roster earlier this year. 

Rosa currently has a presence on AEW TV despite not wrestling as she serves as an announcer for AEW's Spanish-language broadcast.
