Report: Tessa Blanchard Will Likely Sign With WWE

She was recently fired by IMPACT Wrestling...

Back on June 25, IMPACT Wrestling announced world champion Tessa Blanchard had been fired and stripped of her title.

IMPACT issued the following statement: "IMPACT Wrestling confirmed that it has terminated its relationship with Tessa Blanchard and stripped her of the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship."

Blanchard had not appeared on IMPACT! during the coronavirus pandemic and she is currently living in Mexico with her fiance Daga. The promotion asked her to send in promo videos for Slammiversary 2020 but she refused as she has no plans to wrestle during the pandemic. Her contract was set to expire before July 18.

Reports over the weekend noted WWE is interested in signing The Queen Of The Carolinas and Alex McCarthy at talkSPORT revealed yesterday that Blanchard will likely sign with the wrestling behemoth. A number of promotions are reportedly interested in the third-generation-wrestler but McCarthy noted one company who isn't is All Elite Wrestling.

Why AEW isn't interested in the former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion is currently unknown but she has previously been accused of using racial slurs and being a bully. WWE also reportedly chose not to sign Blanchard back in 2016 because of "attitude issues."
