Report: Former WWE Champion Did Not Wrestle At WrestleMania 36 Taping Because Of Illness

WWE finds itself in a bit of a pickle...

WrestleMania 36 is only eight days away and will be broadcast from multiple locations on April 4 and April 5. Most of the matches for the show were taped at the WWE Performance Center on March 25 and March 26, with 16 bouts expected to be on the card.

The event has undergone major changes in the past two days, however, as Roman Reigns pulled out of his Universal Championship match against Goldberg and other Superstars were also withdrawn from The Show Of Shows.

Mike Johnson reported on PWInsider that one of these wrestlers was The Miz who was scheduled to defend his SmackDown Tag Team Championship with John Morrison at The Showcase Of The Immortals. The former WWE Champion was in Orlando, Florida for the taping but Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Miz was feeling unwell before the show, and the company decided not to proceed with the match.

This leaves WWE in a little bit of a pickle as they announced earlier today that The New Day and The Usos will face off on tonight's episode of Friday Night SmackDown to determine the number one contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team titles at Mania. However, since Miz did not wrestle, the company will have to come up with an excuse as to why the match will not happen on April 4 or April 5.
