Back on December 8,

WWE

announced that they had released Luke Harper. The former Bludgeon Brother had been campaigning for much of the year to leave the company, but WWE resisted out of fears he would wind up in All Elite Wrestling.

WWE's fears have seemingly been confirmed as

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

that Harper, now going by his old ring name Brodie Lee, is expected to sign with AEW in the coming weeks.

While Lee could debut in the company as early as February 12, the young promotion is expected to hold off until March 18 when Dynamite airs from The Bulldozer's home town of Rochester, New York.

Meltzer wrote: "Jonathan Huber (Luke Harper), 40, is expected to sign here and debut on 3/18 in Rochester, NY, which is his home town. He’s expected to use his old ring name, Brodie Lee. He could legally start as early as 2/12 but it’s for the best to debut him in Rochester where it’s guaranteed to get a big reaction."

The former member of the Wyatt Family has long hinted that he would sign with AEW,

even joining Inner Circle member Sammy Guevara

for pro wrestling night at a Corpus Christi IceRays ice hockey match.
