WWE weren't afraid to use real-life as part of several segments on Monday Night Raw on November 29, with the company's releases over the last 18 months being referenced in two promos.

During the Raw Women's Title contract signing between Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan, the challenger referenced Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan being gone from WWE, blaming their releases on Big Time Becks and her "big, fat, greedy contract."

Edge also mentioned The Miz's recent stint on Dancing With The Stars on Raw and claimed The A-Lister left John Morrison "high and gry to get fired" so he could be on the dance competition.

Edge said: "The biggest difference between you and I is that I fought with every fibre of my being to get this small window back. Where you... you used this to get notoriety to get your next endeavour, for your next reality show, for your dance competition... while you leave your partner high and dry to get fired!"

Some fans considered the mentioning of the releases to be in poor taste and they weren't the only ones.

Sean Ross Sapp noted on Fightful's Raw review show that former WWE Superstars, former producers and a current WWE wrestler all considered the releases being used on Raw to be in bad taste.

"It happened several times during this show, and I had former WWE wrestlers, former WWE producers, and a current WWE wrestler, that were all telling me how bad a taste they thought that was," Sean Ross Sapp reported.

WWE have held several rounds of roster cuts over the last 18 months and 81 wrestlers have been let go in 2021 alone, including the likes of Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Karrion Kross and Malakai Black.
