WWE completed its latest round of releases over the weekend, releasing several NXT 2.0 stars from their WWE contracts.
Two of the biggest names to leave WWE were Dakota Kai and Malcolm Bivens, and a report from Fightful Select has shed some light on the exits of both stars.
Kai had spent several years in NXT, becoming the inaugural NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions with Raquel Gonzalez, and although Kai performed in several dark matches for ‘main roster’ Fightful were told there were no solid plans or direction for Kai on main, and there was an no indication if she’d ever be called up.
It was also reported that Kai had no intention on re-signing with WWE when her deal was up for renewal ahead of an April 2023 expiration.
As for Malcolm Bivens, the Diamond Mine mouthpiece had made it clear that he was not interested in signing a new WWE deal, turning down a new restructured contract with his current deal originally set to expire some time at the beginning of 2023. There were reportedly talks of bringing Bivens to main to manage Omos before WWE settled on MVP instead, with LA Knight also considered for the role.
