Much has changed on WWE NXT since the developmental brand was revamped in September of 2021 and WWE held meetings in which they asked female talent to "dress sexy", according to Ember Moon, despite some talent being uncomfortable with the request.

Further details have since emerged about the "dress sexy" meetings and Fightful Select revealed the meetings were held in October 2021 and were initially advertised as 'fashion consulting' and 'fashion aid' as WWE attempted to demonstrate that women's talent were 'larger than life stars.' WWE also brought in Melanie Pace, a fashion expert for the meetings.

The "dress sexy" request didn't just extend to on-screen, though, and one NXT wrestler told Fightful they were encouraged to dress sexier backstage and they were given leaflets on heels and tops. This was said to be in stark contrast to previous years in NXT in which talent were encouraged to wear a merchandise shirt or their in-ring gear.

Several NXT talents were unhappy about the meetings, with John Laurinaitis receiving the blame since they took place shortly after he was reinstated as Head of Talent Relations. If the blame actually rests with Johnny Ace is currently unknown, though.
