Report: Gable Steveson Taking A Break From NXT Already

Gable Steveson is taking a hiatus from NXT

Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson recently made his debut on NXT, with it seeming as though the young name is to be a permanent part of the NXT roster. After previously being drafted to Raw last year without any appearances, Steveson returned to WWE programming in NXT, offering to train up Eddy Thorpe for his Raw Underground match against Steveson’s real life brother, Damon Kemp.

Steveson ended up getting physically involved on the most recent edition of NXT, throwing around NXT wrestlers with ease. This looked to be perhaps the start of a run for Steveson on the brand, but according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he is already set to take time off.

“Steveson is now officially considered on the NXT roster, although he will be taking a break soon to train for the world championships.”

At this point it feels as though Steveson’s WWE career will never get off the ground, with him taking a lot of time away to compete in amateur wrestling, with his professional wrestling training progressing slowly.
