Report: Goldberg Officially A Free Agent After His WWE Contract Expires

Goldberg is no longer a part of the WWE roster

Goldberg is gone from WWE.

According to Fightful Select, Goldberg's contract with WWE officially expired at the end of 2022 and both parties failed to reach an agreement on a new deal. Goldberg has been a free agent since the end of the year.

Goldberg worked the final match of his WWE deal back at Elimination Chamber in February 2022 where he unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. He remained under contract until the end of 2022, though.

After initially retiring following 2017's WrestleMania 33, Goldberg came out of retirement in 2019 for a disastrous match with The Undertaker. Da' Man would wrestle seven more matches for WWE over the next three years, which included him having one more reign as Universal Champion in 2020 after infamously defeating "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt.

Goldberg's booking in WWE was mostly criticised by fans but he did receive praise for a Falls Count Anywhere Match with Bobby Lashley in October 2021.

What is next for Goldberg remains to be seen, but he has hinted at a retirement match in recent months. Rumours in 2019 suggested that All Elite Wrestling were interested in Goldberg but they were never confirmed.
