Report: Gunther Close To New WWE Deal

Gunther is one of the most dominant stars in all of WWE, and it seems the World Heavyweight Champion is looking to stay put as he is reportedly close to a new deal.

Per a report form PWInsider, it seems as though Gunther is either close to agreeing a new deal or has indeed signed a new contract with the organisation, although terms of a deal have not been revealed.

One of the strongest booked performers in all of WWE since his arrival in 2019, Gunther has the distinction of having the longest ever NXT UK Title reign at over 800 days, and the longest ever time as Intercontinental Champion with 666 days registered across his one reign with the historic championship.

Prior to his run in WWE, Gunther - then WALTER - was one of the most respected name on the European independent circuit, primarily wrestling for the likes of wXw and PROGRESS, amongst others.

‘Der Ring General’ is slated to face Finn Balor at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14 after Balor got involved with Gunther’s successful World Heavyweight Title defence over Damian Priest at Survivor Series.
