Things could get worse for Vince McMahon
Jul 26, 2022
The HBO Real Sports story on now-former WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon will be "damning", Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Live.
Speaking about the mainstream outlet's investigation into McMahon, Alvarez said: "I will say that there are rumours that the HBO Real Sports story on Vince is - one person used the term 'damning.'"
HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel has been investigating Vince McMahon in recent weeks and the show has been looking to speak with former female employees of WWE.
McMahon retired as WWE CEO and Chairman on Friday, July 22, and the 76-year-old's resignation was reportedly hastened by federal investigations into the hush payments he made to suppress sexual misconduct and infidelity allegations. Wall Street Journal reports since June 15 have revealed that McMahon has paid over $12 million since 2006 to multiple women who previously worked with WWE, including $7.5 million to a former talent and $3 million to a former employee.
Following McMahon's retirement, WWE installed Stephanie McMahon as the new Chairwoman and she will share CEO duties with Nick Khan. Triple H, meanwhile, is the new head of WWE creative.
