Report: Much Of WWE Raw Written Before Vince McMahon's Departure

A largely-Vince McMahon production

While Vince McMahon might be out of WWE following his retirement as CEO and Chairman on Friday, July 22, the 76-year-old still had a big influence on Monday's episode of Raw from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Raw was "largely written" before McMahon's exit and only a few minor changes were made to the show in the days that followed.

"This is probably not the show to judge anything by because this show was largely written before Vince left. It was written a lot on Thursday...nobody ripped up anything. There are a few minor changes is what I was told. Essentially, this was the show that had been approved. They're not making any big changes or anything like that just yet and of course, they're going to SummerSlam with the ideas in mind," Meltzer said.

Triple H was announced as the new head of WWE creative on Monday and excitement is high for The Game's run at the top of WWE. Underneath Triple H is Bruce Prichard but the former WWE Champion will retain the final say on creative matters.

The upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view was largely booked before Triple H was appointed to his new role and how much WWE will divert from Vince McMahon's booking vision for the show has yet to be revealed.
