Report: Injured WWE Star In Detroit Ahead Of WWE SummerSlam

An injured star is in town for WWE SummerSlam

An injured WWE star is in the Motor City ahead of SummerSlam, with the 'Biggest Party of the Summer' set to take place at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, August 5.

According to PWInsider, Robert Roode has been spotted in Detroit ahead of the show. Why exactly he is in Detroit for SummerSlam is unknown but WWE have brought in several unadvertised names for the pay-per-view to assist with tryouts, community work, and to carry out media duties, including Liv Morgan, Baron Corbin, Zoey Stark, Maxxine Dupri, and Titus O'Neil.

It would be a miracle if Roode goes anywhere near a ring at SummerSlam, having underwent neck fusion surgery for a second time back in May, and the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion is expected to be out of action until 2024. Roode has not wrestled since June 2022 and he initially underwent neck fusion surgery on his C5 and C6 vertebrae back in November 2022.

Roode has been a part of WWE since 2016, having joined the company following a 12-year run in IMPACT Wrestling.
