With All In fast approaching, speculation online in recent days has suggested that relations between The Elite and CM Punk may have improved, with some on social media predicting that Kenny Omega vs. CM Punk will be one of the headline matches on August 27 inside Wembley Stadium. There was also a brief tease from Kenny Omega this week that The Elite will appear on future episodes of Collision, fuelling more speculation about a possible rapprochement between the two sides.

While All In is still a few weeks away, relations between The Elite and CM Punk don't appear to have actually improved, with Dave Meltzer reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there "remain significant behind-the-scenes issues that haven't been settled" between the two sides and Tony Khan is still having to do a balancing act as a result.

The issues between The Elite and CM Punk are well-documented, with initial hostilities arising over the perception that CM Punk was involved in Tony Khan's decision to not renew Colt Cabana's contract and his subsequent banishment to Ring of Honor. Relations only continued to worsen, eventually reaching the point that a backstage fight broke out following September 2022's All Out pay-per-view, mere minutes after CM Punk's infamous post-show media scrum.

Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, CM Punk, and Ace Steel were all suspended following the fight. Ace Steel was fired and then brought back to the company. The Elite returned in November 2022, while CM Punk made his comeback in June 2023 following a triceps injury.
