Report: Injury Led To Brody King Loss On AEW Rampage

Brody King’s recent AEW Rampage loss was due to an injury issue

Since joining All Elite Wrestling, the House of Black’s Brody King has been well protected, with the AEW Trios Champion rarely ever pinned or submitted in active competition.

However, on the recent St. Patrick’s Day Slam edition of AEW Rampage, King suffered a rare loss when the Jericho Appreciation Society’s Daniel Garcia defeated him in singles action. Per a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, King was inserted into the match last-minute, as originally Garcia was set to go over Buddy Matthews.

Matthews was allegedly pulled from the match due to injury from the trios title match earlier the same night, and the booking was kept intact as the JAS needed a singles win over The House to continue the burgeoning trios feud between the two teams.

King returned to winning ways on the March 24 edition of Rampage, where he defeated JAS heavyweight Jake Hager. Since joining AEW in 2022, King has only lost three singles matches, with a Coffin Match loss to Darby Allin, and a loss to then Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley the only other blemishes on his singles record.
