Report: Jake Hager Exits AEW

AEW & Jake Hager part ways

Another departure from All Elite Wrestling may have been revealed.

Although there has been no confirmation from AEW or the man himself, Bodyslam.net has reported that Jake Hager's deal with All Elite Wrestling recently expired and he did not re-sign with the promotion. The decision for AEW and Jake Hager to part ways was believed to be mutual.

Jake Hager is now a free agent for the first time in five years. Hager made his AEW debut on the inaugural episode of AEW Dynamite in October 2019, forming the Inner Circle with Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz. Hager remained linked with Chris Jericho throughout much of his AEW run, even following Jericho into the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Hager's popularity rose in the JAS through his love for a purple hat but the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was seldom used after the Jericho Appreciation Society split in the Summer of 2023. Hager hadn't been booked by AEW since a loss to Roderick Strong on the February 23 episode of Rampage.

Hager joins Mark Henry in exiting All Elite Wrestling in recent days.
