Report: Jay White In Talks With WWE & AEW

Jay White reportedly in talks with both WWE and AEW

Since losing a ‘Loser Leaves Japan’ Match against Hikuleo and subsequently a ‘Loser Leaves New Japan’ Match against Eddie Kingston earlier this year, wrestling fans have been eagerly wondering where Jay White will end up next.

The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has not been seen since his loss to Kingston at Battle in the Valley on February 18, with ‘The Switchblade’ being unceremoniously kicked out of Bullet Club after his loss - as is tradition.

As one of the top names of New Japan, White's stock means that a move to WWE or AEW is most likely, with Dave Meltzer reporting the following in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter about White’s potential next move:

"Regarding Jay White, we are told that White has been talking to WWE but has not signed. He is also talking to AEW. From someone familiar with the situation they described it as 50/50 which side he would go with. Doing the loser leaves town is weird because if he does sign with AEW, he could still work for New Japan, but I guess he wanted to leave New Japan either way rather than come in for major dates so did the total exit angle before while still talking with both sides."

White has wrestled for AEW on several occasions, and has also performed for IMPACT Wrestling in the past couple of years. The rumour mill suggested that White could turn up in the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble, but alas he was nowhere to be found.
