David Finlay Joins Bullet Club At NJPW 51st Anniversary Show

David Finlay is the newest member of Bullet Club

Gedo has chosen a new member of Bullet Club.

The first round of the New Japan Cup continued today at NJPW's 51st Anniversary Show from Ota City General Gymnasium as David Finlay went one-on-one with Tomohiro Ishii.

Ishii made his way to the ring first and when Finlay made his entrance, he was accompanied to the squared circle by Gedo with new entrance music and a new look, as well as Bullet Club attire. Going by "The Rebel", Finlay had a hard-hitting affair and ultimately defeated Ishii.

In a post-match promo, Gedo stated that Finlay would turn the entire scene on its head before Finlay proclaimed he will win the New Japan Cup and challenge Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Finlay will face Great-O-Khan in the second round.

Finlay joining Bullet Club comes after Jay White was forced to leave New Japan after losing a Loser Leaves NJPW Match to Eddie Kingston at Battle in the Valley on February 18. White was set to cut a promo following his loss but he was laid out by Finlay, who declared he feels like a foreigner no matter where he is in the world.

Finlay and White have a long history, having risen through the ranks in NJPW as young lions together. While White went on to win it all in New Japan, Finlay's success came in the tag team division as one-half of FinJuice with Juice Robinson. In that tag team, they became IWGP Tag Team Champions and IMPACT World Tag Team Champions. Finlay is also a former NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champion, which he held with Ricochet and Satoshi Kojima in late 2016 and early 2017.
