Report: Jeff Hardy Not Expected Back In AEW For Some Time

Jeff Hardy has been out of action since being arrested in June

It’s been over five months since Jeff Hardy last wrestled for AEW, but despite recent reports to the contrary, we shouldn’t be expecting ‘Brother Nero’ back in AEW anytime soon.

Hardy was arrested in June for a handful of charges including DUI, and since then has been out of action. A new report from PWInsider has revealed that Hardy has a pre-trial hearing on October 19, with Hardy’s legal team waiving his right to a speedy trial, with his original hearing in July pushed back 60 days to assist in his defence.

The report continues, stating that Hardy is still employed by AEW, but will not return from suspension until his legal affairs are cleared up and after the former WWE Champion can show that he can maintain his sobriety.

Hardy signed with AEW in early 2022, debuting on the March 9 edition of Dynamite. Hardy’s third run with WWE ended in late 2021 after Hardy walked out of a house show mid-match.
