Report: Jeff Jarrett Very Interested In Becoming Semi-Regular Wrestler For CMLL

Jeff Jarrett is set to make his CMLL debut at the Lucha Libre promotion's 93rd Anniversary Show against Blue Panther on Friday, September 18, and the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion may not be one-and-done in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre.

Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jarrett is "very interested" in becoming a semi-regular wrestler for CMLL, similar to Johnny TV's run in the promotion earlier this year that culminated in a Hair vs. Hair Match with Angel de Oro.

"What I can say, and I don't know if this is going to transpire, but I do know for a fact that Jeff Jarrett is very interested in actually not doing a one-and-done but actually, not being a regular, not like going down every Friday, but being like a semi-regular from AEW who is going to go and work a programme and build a big match and things like that. Similar probably to what Johnny TV did except bigger. At least that's his hope. May not happen," Meltzer said.

While he hasn't wrestled for CMLL, Jeff Jarrett worked for the promotion's main rivals in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide on a sporadic basis between 2004 and 2025. This included two reigns as AAA Mega Champion, while Jarrett won the 2004 Rey de Reyes tournament. He also lost a Hair vs. Hair Match against Dr Wagner Jr. at Héroes Inmortales XII in 2018.

Jeff Jarrett has been signed to All Elite Wrestling since 2022, although he hasn't wrestled for the company on TV since January 2025 and has instead appeared as a pay-per-view host.
