Report: WWE Worlds Collide Not Scheduled To Air Live

Saturday, September 26, will be a big night in professional wrestling as WWE/AAA/NXT Worlds Collide will go head-to-head with AEW All Out, with both shows getting underway at 8 pm ET and taking place in the Chicago area, but only the All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view will air live.

PWInsider has reported that it has been indicated by WWE sources that Worlds Collide won't air live and the show will instead be taped. The company does have a plan for how the event will be broadcast, but that plan is currently unknown. Speculation has suggested the event may be added to Club WWE, similar to Stephanie Vaquer's WWE Women's World Title win at the house show in Santiago, Chile, or be added to YouTube like Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide's other events.

Fightful Select has also reported that, while plans could change, Worlds Collide was internally expected to be more of a "live event."

Only one match has been made official for Worlds Collide so far in La Catalina vs. Roxanne Perez for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship. Chicago's Allstate Arena are advertising several matches for the show, though, including CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano vs. Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and Omos, Penta and Rey Fenix vs. Los Perros del Mal, Dragon Lee vs. Jack Cartwheel, and Fatal Influence vs. Las Toxicas.

WWE specifically booked Worlds Collide in Chicago in order to counter-programme AEW All Out in the Chicago area, while WWE are deliberately holding the event at 8 pm ET to directly compete with the AEW event. Despite this, AEW All Out at NOW Arena has already sold out.
