Report: John Laurinaitis Texted WWE Talent Regarding Recent Releases

A simple message from the WWE Head Of Talent Relations

John Laurinaitis reportedly took the unusual step of texting the WWE roster to inform them of the releases announced on Wednesday.

WWE confirmed the departures of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Ruby Riott, Lana, Murphy and Santana Garrett on Wednesday 2, June in the latest round of high-profile cuts from the talent roster in the company.

PWInsider is reporting that WWE Talent Relations Head Laurinaitis took the decision to send a message to WWE talent regarding the releases, informing them that the decision was due to budgetary releases.

The text read:

“Due to Budget cuts the following talent were released today. Braun Strowman, Lana, Buddy Murphy, Santana Garrett, Ruby Riott, and Aleister Black. – John Laurinaitis”

It has been previously noted on Wrestling Observer Radio, prior to the wording of the text being revealed, that this may have been the first time the rest of the roster received such a message about other talent being let go by WWE.

It was reported on Wednesday, in the aftermath of the releases, that there was a feeling of shock backstage among WWE Superstars in regard to some of the names let go.
