Report: Johnny Gargano "Heavily Considering" Joining AEW

Could Gargano soon be All Elite?

Is another former WWE NXT star AEW bound?

Johnny Gargano's WWE contract expired on December 10 and the NXT Triple Crown Champion departed the company after turning down several offers to re-sign.

Gargano has since said that he plans to take a break from professional wrestling and enjoy the next couple of months ahead of the birth of his first child with wife Candice LeRae.

Where Johnny Wrestling will end up after that break remains to be seen but Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the 34-year-old is "heavily considering" joining All Elite Wrestling.

"Just things he's said both publicly and privately, I mean I know he's heavily considering going to AEW, put it that way," Meltzer said.

Since his release, Gargano has mentioned he would love to face two AEW stars in Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson, even calling a match with The Best Bout Machine a dream match of his.

AEW have added several former NXT stars to the roster in recent months and the likes of Bobby Fish, Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly have all debuted in Tony Khan's promotion since September.
